A tape measure should be loosely placed around the neck to measure your neck size. You should be able to fit 2 fingers inside the tape measure.
Place the measuring tape around your back, under your armpits (with arms down) across the broadest part of your chest to take this measurement.
Holding your arm straight and parallel to the side of your body, measure from the ball of shoulder (or seam of another jacket) to the wrist or longer if preferred.
Normally a kilt is fasten at the belly button, but it’s totally up to you where you want to fasten it.

Kneel down on the floor with your back straight. Measure the distance from your navel/ tummy button to the floor.
Measure from C to ankle or normal position man wears his trousers.
Measure crotch to ankle or normal position man wears his trousers.

To ensure the perfect fit for your kilt:
Measure at Navel Level
Wrap a soft tape measure around your waist at the level of your belly button.
Or Measure Where Your Kilt Will Sit
Place the tape at the exact spot where the top of your kilt will rest—often just above the hips.
Don’t Use Your Pants Size
Kilt sizing sits differently than trousers; pants sizes may result in an ill‑fitting kilt.
Record your measurement in inches (or centimeters) and select the corresponding kilt size. A well‑measured waist is the key to confident Highland style!
